Emma's Fabric Studio.

I LOVE fabric. Obviously it is the most important component of the items I make.  I could probably manage without most other things but fabric is pretty essential!  Since I began my adventures into sewing I have used a variety of fabrics.   I even reuse fabrics sometimes.  However I have found that there really is no substitute for good quality 100% cotton.

I purchase from several places including various EBay sellers.  However I do have my favourites. For a real "offline" shopping experience it has to be the Fabric Guild in Leicester.  More about them another day.  If you can't wait, Google them. Online, my absolute favourite is Emma's Fabric Studio.

Emma is based in Kent in the UK and has a huge range of fabrics, haberdashery and Rooster wool. Her Fabrics include all the big names such as, Riley Blake, Robert Kaufman and, Michael Miller.  She has Essex Linens and I believe, pretty much the full range of Kona Cotton Solids.

Emma sells by the metre, half metre and FQ.  She puts together some beautiful combinations for FQ bundles.  There are also regular flash sales which are put on Facebook but you have to be fast as they are very popular!

The best thing of all about Emma's Fabric Studio is the exemplary customer service. Nothing is too much trouble and Emma will go out of her way to help you.  Delivery is very prompt and everything is beautifully presented.  Last year I purchased a Go Baby die cutting machine from Emma for my daughters birthday and Emma couldn't have been more helpful.   I really can't recommend her highly enough.

You can check out all the loveliness for yourself by clicking HERE.

What are your favourites? I am saving up my pennies for some fabric from her Geeky Cheek range, which features moustaches, glasses and skulls!

Emma's fabric studio can also be found on Facebook: www.facebook.com/emmasfabricstudio   and on Twitter: https://twitter.com/emsfabricstudio

Here are a couple of things from Fabrilushus made with fabric purchased from Emma.

All the above are made with Riley Blake fabrics and can be purchased from Fabrilushus

Craft Britannia - Shop of the week

One of the things that I like very much about Etsy is that there are lots of teams that you can join. I have joined the Craft Britannia team which is a UK only team.   They are such a brilliant lot and without their helpful advice and encouragement I think I would have given up by now!  I thought that things were going to happen much more quickly but it seems that it takes time.

Craft Britannia, or team CB as we like to be called, promote a team members shop each week.  This week it is Sethayla’s shop - Aisling Designs.

Sethayla makes gorgeous bunting for all occasions and also hand knitted and crocheted woolly creations.  There are a few photos here but please go and check out her shop by clicking Here

The vintage doiley bunting is one of Sethayla’s latest creations.  How brilliant is that and how perfect for a wedding maybe?  She does do commissions, so if you find some old doilies and want to do something with them rather than just have them sitting in your cupboard then Seth is your girl.

I hope you have enjoyed this little peak in to Aisling Designs.

Welcome to Fabrilushus

Welcome to Fabrilushus.

Well it has taken me forever to get this far. I started to set up this blog weeks ago. My personal blog "Don't Worry Be Happy" has been neglected for ages.  I am constantly busy and never seem to have enough hours in the day. Tempus Fugit..... Time Flies.

To give you a bit of background first; I set up my online shop Fabrilushus, with Etsy on the 9th of January this year. (2013). Since then I am also marketing Fabrilushus through the online stores, WOW Thank You and Loubilou.

It has been a VERY slow start!  I began with felt brooches which are one of my specialities, plus some patchwork tote bags.  Since then I have branched out into many more items. Fabrilushus currently has around 160 items for sale arranged over 10 selling sections.

This new Fabrilushus blog has several purposes.  First of which is promotion.  I shall obviously be promoting my own shop but will also be promoting others who sell beautiful things which I think you might find of interest.  Secondly I want it to be a place where you can come to find information.  That will include tutorials for various crafts, links to suppliers etc. Basically anything to do with the crafting world which I think may be of interest. I hope in time to have guest bloggers too.

I really hope that you will enjoy this new blog and drop by often to see what is new. Please feel free to sign up for email alerts.

For now I shall post the links where you can find Fabrilushus.  These are my shop links:
